The month of November is malaria transmission season in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region.
Commemorations of malaria month in November takes place annually and commence with SADC Malaria Week from 05 - 09 November and SADC Malaria Day on 06 November.
The aim Malaria Month is to raise awareness and promote partnerships in the fight against the disease in the SADC region. Delegates at various commemorative events deliberate on issues aimed at strengthening the health system to ensure that it provides access to quality health services for all in line with the principles of universal health coverage through an inclusive process .
